Netropolis is an online multi-player strategy game where you match your wits as a corporate gangster/tycoon against other real people. Buy some land, set up a few businesses and watch the money roll in. Easy, right? Not in Netropolis.

You'll need to think about what you're doing and build sensibly. Putting a campsite by a river is a good idea. Putting one by a multi-storey car park is dumb! And let's just say not everyone round here does things by the book - and nor should you if you want to get on. If another player is interfering on your patch you better do something about it - maybe hire a few young punks to throw a smoke bomb or two, perhaps even torch their joint. Or why not just move in and take it over? Just make sure you don't get caught by the cops.

But what comes around goes around in Netropolis, so don't go treading on anyone's toes unless you're prepared for a little trouble yourself. Getting a bit of security in to guard your larger places is a smart move, and don't go irritating the big cheeses til you're powerful enough to take them on. Otherwise - I'm telling you - it's going to get messy.

When you start Netropolis you're a nobody, so you may want to make a few friends. You'll find most of the bosses around here open to talk to, and you'll often find them in the forums or chat rooms. But don't trust anyone too much. Friends are only friends until they get in the way...

If you're good enough and don't make too many enemies early on you can make some serious dough here, you'll build up a business empire and you'll find all kinds of secret weapons to keep the other corporations in their places. If you really make it big and dominate a town you'll have the chance to move into a city and see if you're good enough to take a piece of the action from the real big boys. You'll probably need to log in to Netropolis to attend to your business affairs at least every couple of days for ten minutes or so, but you'll probably want to spend a bit longer than that if you're thinking of making your mark. It's up to you, but if you ain't around for a while the jackals will move in to take advantage.

Remember, Netropolis is not a simple computer game - you're playing against real people. So have fun, make friends, gang up, take risks, make mistakes, get dirty, and climb to the top!
